Shueisha Suspends One Piece Card Game Magazine Promos: Are Saikyo Jump and Magazine 021 Affected?

Shueisha has temporarily suspended ONE PIECE Card Game promotional card inserts across Weekly Shonen Jump, V Jump and Saikyo Jump.

The decision follows the overwhelming demand for Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 33, which included the exclusive Monkey D. Luffy P-159 promotional card celebrating the 29th anniversary of the ONE PIECE manga.

However, Shueisha has not cancelled its magazines, nor has it permanently discontinued every future ONE PIECE magazine promotion.

The status of each upcoming release is different:

• The V Jump Charlotte Pudding card has been cancelled as a magazine insert.

What Did Shueisha Announce?

On July 17, 2026, Shueisha issued an apology following the widespread shortage of Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 33.

According to the announcement, ONE PIECE Card Game cards included as magazine supplements will be suspended for the time being in:

• Weekly Shonen Jump
• V Jump
• Saikyo Jump

Shueisha explained that it would carefully reconsider future supplement projects and sales methods so that its magazines could reach as many genuine readers as possible.

The Japanese announcement uses the phrase “当面の間見合わせ”, which is best understood as “suspended for the time being” or “temporarily put on hold.”

It does not mean the promotions have been permanently discontinued.

Which One Piece Promo Has Been Confirmed as Cancelled?

The clearest confirmed cancellation concerns the ONE PIECE Card Game card planned for V Jump’s October 2026 issue.

The magazine is scheduled for release on August 21, 2026 and was originally expected to include a Charlotte Pudding promotional card.

Shueisha has now cancelled that card as a magazine supplement.

This distinction is important:

• The V Jump October issue itself has not been cancelled.
• The Charlotte Pudding ONE PIECE Card Game insert has been cancelled.

Does the suspension cover future Saikyo Jump promos?

Why ONE PIECE Magazine 021 May Be Treated Differently

ONE PIECE Magazine 021 differs from the mass-market magazines named in Shueisha’s announcement.

Shueisha is offering two separate editions:

• A card-included edition
• A regular edition without the card

The card-included edition is a separately listed Shueisha mook with its own ISBN, price and preorder process.
